We look forward to seeing you soon!
Please let us know ahead of time if you are not able to make your scheduled time.
We have modified our schedule and classes to ensure we are following COVID-19 guidelines and will be operating at reduced capacity. At this time we are offering kids classes and Gi classes for adults.
You will be required to complete a COVID-19 Questionnaire and have your temperature taken each time you enter the building.
Due to reduced class sizes, instructors will be able to offer more individualized training based on skill and experience.
As restrictions are lifted we will begin to offer more classes.
Our entry level kids program is based on teaching our youngest students how to control their bodies while working on focus, discipline and self confidence in a fun environment, while learning simple defensive skills and basic jiujitsu movements and techniques.
The program for older kids introduces more advanced techniques, including submissions and escapes. Students will gain valuable self defense skills to deal with bullying, learning how to defuse confrontations, and protect and defend themselves if attacked. Classes also include sparring (rolling in jiujitsu parlance) sessions where students will grapple with each other and learn to apply the techniques being taught under the watchful eyes of our instructors
Our beginners classes are designed for students who are new to Brazilian jiujitsu. The focus is on learning and applying fundamental techniques, including basic positions, submissions, escapes and self-defense, in a controlled and safe environment. Although all students progress at a different pace, on average you should expect to attend approximately 20 beginners classes before joining the All Levels classes.
The All Levels classes progress at a faster pace and introduce more technical and complex positions, submissions, escapes and self-defense. These classes also include both positional and free rolling (sparring).
One of the fastest growing aspects of jiujitsu is No Gi competition. The No Gi classes are only open to students with a solid understanding of jiujitsu principles. These classes focus on developing skills useful in real self defense situations and in the most popular sport rule sets.
Open mat time is the fun time of the week, live rolling to practice what you have been learning during classes. Although there will be no direct instruction during this time, our instructors will be present to help with any questions that you might have. All schools and affiliations are welcome to our open mat.
